At Hamilton Zoo.

It was a sunny morning, as we walked through the entrance into the Zoo. I saw a lot of schools.
We all had to split up in groups that Mrs Thompson put us in. I had to go with Mrs Draper, Brogen, Madeline and Jahnyva.
First, my group looked at the native birds. As I walked in, there were was a cage that had birds in.The native birds had brown feathers, and strong wings. They were staring at us like we were going to do something bad to them.
Next, we went to see the White Rhinos. They had dry scaly skin and dirty backs. They were walking really slowly like they were tired. Their enclosure was so big and full with dirt.
“Look at the Rhinos!” I shouted.
We then went to see the furry Red Pandas. They had red bushy tails, with black fur at the ends. They were curled up, in a ball fast asleep. They were not moving so we started to move on.
Finally, we went through the cafe and into the education classroom. As I walked in, there was a zoo keeper named Matt.

When everyone sat down Matt talked about a tiger having her babies, and animals moving to the Auckland Zoo and also a chimp that got sad and broke the outside window.
Matt also talked about animals living many years ago.
After Matt had finished talking, we all had a chance to look around. There were bones, cracked eggs, stoats and dead animals.
I hope we can go to the Zoo again.

Narrative

It was a sunny afternoon. Zack, who was 10 years old, went to Sunny Side Zoo with his parents. They were having lunch at the park near the tough gorillas.
‘’Can I see the gorillas ?’’ asked Zack.
‘’Okay,’’ said Mum. ‘’But be quick. We're going soon after I have packed our lunch.’’
Zack walked happily to the gorillas. As he crossed the wooden bridge, Zack was so excited to see their black angry faces. “WOW!” he said happily.
As he leaned closer, Zack fell off the bridge.
When the gorilla looked up Zack was so scared.
He yelled, ‘’Mum! Dad! Help!"
When his parents heard the frightened sound, Zack’s mum was really worried. They went to see what had happened.
The gorillas had crawled closer. They were growling seriously, and Zack was nearly attacked by their knuckle claws.
Zack’s mum was yelling for a zoo keeper. “Help! My son is in the gorillas' enclosure.”
When the zookeeper came, he asked, “What happened?”
“My son! He’s down there with the gorillas,” Mum said.
As the zoo keeper walked down with food, Zack was so glad that he had gone down to help him get away from those angry black gorillas.
“Thank you,” said Zack, gratefully.
As they walked back on the bridge, Zack hugged his parents and thanked the zoo keeper, then they headed home.

Guy Fawkes.

On a cold night, my family and I were going to buy fireworks.
After we bought the fireworks, my mum and dad were thinking about doing ours at my aunt and uncle's place.                                 As I climbed in the van, with the fireworks, I felt excited and anxious at the same time. When we arrived, I jumped out of the van. I heard a BOOM and a CRACK.
When I opened the door, I saw my aunt and my uncle.                       My cousin said to me, ''Did you bring fireworks?''
I said, "Yes."                                                                                       I hugged my aunt and uncle.                                                               When I looked in their kitchen, I saw their fireworks on the bench.   We headed outside. We lit our fireworks. We started with the big explosions. They went BOOM! CRACK! It was amazing.

At The Beach

It was a sunny warm Saturday afternoon, at the beach.
I was so excited to jump over the sparkling waves.
The water glistened. It looked like thousands of sapphires. The sand was really hot.
The beach was really amazing. I could relax there forever.
After I jumped over the waves, I went to dig a deep hole. When the shimmering water came into the wet sandy hole, the water was rushing in.
When I had finished having a swim, I lay on the sand to keep me warm.
It was a fun day at the beach.

Long Distance Race

It was a windy Friday morning. I was ready to race. I was jumping up and down. I was so excited. It was time to race. I was getting ready. Mr K was holding a racing gun.
It went BOOM!. I went as fast as I could. The wind was dashing through me.
I was on my second lap. I was halfway through the whole field. Brogen ran right in front of me. I tried to dash right in front her.
When I was on my last lap, I heard a bell. It went DING! DING! When I crossed the finish line, I came in 5th place. I cheered for myself.
